A really proud moment for Jamshedpur comes in as it becomes one of the three cities in India along with Pune and Surat to be certified for ISO 37120 Sustainable Development of Communities: Indicators for City Services and Quality of Life, the new international standard; created by cities, for cities World Council on City Data (WCCD).
It defines the city services and quality of life. The test for this has been done in 255 cities across 82 countries and was granted to only 46 cities across the world and now 3 cities in India.
Amongst 12 cities only 3 cities qualified for the same which was received by Sunil Bhaskaran, Vice President Corporate Services, Tata Steel and Ashish Mathur, Managing Director, Jusco at at Taj Vivanta in Mumbai on January 20.
WCCD City helps in promoting effective governance, attracting investments in the city by local companies, improving the credit ratings, getting funding and attracting investments from foreign countries thus improving the infrastructure of the city and making the city even more beautiful.
