Jamshedpur, with yet another pride in it’s hat is set to become the first city of the country to become “zero sewerage discharge city” in a year’s time. The city has been ranked fourth on account of per capita water consumption.
Work is now in progress to achieve the milestone, Deputy General Manager (Water Management) Rabindra Kumar Singh of Jamshedpur Utilities and Services Company Linited, a 100 per cent subsidiary of Tata Steel, said.
“The initiative to recycle and reuse 100 per cent waste water (sewerage water) has already begun”, he said.
